Continuous Improvement Specialist
About The Position
Arcosa Wind Towers, Inc. is seeking a motivated, results- and people-oriented Continuous Improvement Specialist to drive positive change through project management, continuous improvement, and lean methodologies. The role applies manufacturing and industrial engineering practices while keeping continuous improvement fundamentals at the forefront. The specialist identifies and implements solutions to improve employee morale, product quality, efficiency, productivity, and safety performance throughout the plant. The position is based in Belen, New Mexico, and works with plant personnel and departments to support improvement initiatives, provide project transparency, and promote a results-driven culture aligned with long-term value creation. The work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas, and plant grounds. The role may require coverage beyond normal hours and shifts, as well as on weekends and holidays. The employee must tolerate high and low temperatures and typical manufacturing-plant noise.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proficiency in continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and operational efficiency concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with employees at all levels.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and cleanliness levels.
- Ability to tolerate high and low temperatures and loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant.
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s degree or technical certification preferred.
- Experience with project tracking tools is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Support and participate in Kaizen events and improvement initiatives with plant personnel.
- Assist in developing and tracking improvement action plans to ensure progress and accountability.
- Facilitate continuous improvement practices that enhance employee engagement and operational efficiency.
- Maintain tracking tools and metrics to provide project transparency.
- Assist in developing business cases for continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
- Support training and coaching on continuous improvement tools and methodologies across the organization.
- Work cross-functionally with plant departments to support initiatives and provide updates.
- Apply basic project management principles to organize tasks, optimize resources, and support productivity improvements.
- Build relationships with shop floor employees to understand production processes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Observe safety practices, follow safety rules and procedures, and participate in safety committees and initiatives as assigned.
- Help activate the potential of employees, care for customers, optimize operations, integrate sustainability into daily practices and long-term strategy, and promote a results-driven culture aligned with long-term value creation.
