About The Position

The Continuous Improvement Specialist draws upon the broad understanding of Lean for Healthcare and other improvement methodologies in accomplishing assignments. The Continuous Improvement Specialist will facilitate or assist with process improvement activities, initiatives and events. They have familiarity with/experience in Project Management, project planning and implementation, facilitation, data collection and analytics, A3 Thinking, and the use of Lean and other improvement methodologies and tools. They will quickly become familiar with and understand the Munson Alignment Framework and Operating System. Much of the work is self-directed and varies in both subject matter and team composition.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Nursing, or other professional healthcare discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Familiarity and some experience with a wide range of Continuous Improvement methodology and tools.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, presentation and project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate and interact effectively with employees from all areas of the organization.
  • Ability to evaluate and discuss defects and errors in an objective and non-threatening manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data and data analytics for decision-making.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products and desktop software.
  • Strong written, oral, visual and presentation skills to articulate the philosophy of Continuous Improvement as well as on-going project status information.

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical experience in nursing, medicine, pharmacy or allied health profession.
  • One or more years of experience in a hospital setting including process improvement and project leadership experience.
  • Experience or training in Lean for Healthcare or LeanSixSigma.
  • Familiarity with Clinical EHRs.

Responsibilities
