About The Position

The Continuous Improvement Specialist provides technical assistance to solve quality and productivity business problems or develop new or improved equipment, processes, technologies, or methods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Two years of professional experience analyzing and developing solutions to organizational issues or developing business processes and systems.
  • One year of professional experience focused on process optimization, compliance adherence, and rigorous attention to detail within an operational or administrative environment.
  • Experience with analytical tools and processes using databases, spreadsheets, and other business applications.
  • Experience with causal and/or root cause analysis techniques to resolve identified programmatic issues.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a DOE "L" security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Administers the Centerra-Savannah River Site (SRS) Issues Management Program. Responsible for the overall administrative management of the SRS Site Tracking, Analysis, and Reporting (STAR) database. Analyzes and tracks all internal and external deficiencies to determine patterns or trends, and assigns the appropriate significance category.
  • Plans, organizes, schedules, and conducts Deficiency Analysis Group meetings, including facilitating causal analysis and developing corrective action plans. Assigns verification and validation actions as required, monitors suspense dates for corrective actions, and develops/distributes STAR and Deficiency Analysis Reports.
  • Conducts training as needed to inform, educate, and assist company personnel on the STAR database and assessment input.
  • Manages and administers the Centerra-SRS Employee Leading and Improving Towards Excellence (ELITE) suggestion program. Solicits and encourages employee suggestions to improve operational processes and facility configurations to boost efficiencies, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Evaluates ELITE suggestions with key personnel, serves as an advocate for implementation, develops and delivers program status reports, and recognizes employee efforts and accomplishments.
  • Analyzes business, administrative, and protective force processes to evaluate compliance and identify opportunities for process improvements. Guides, supports, and assists teams in applying process improvement methodologies and tools to execute projects that yield measurable metric results.
  • Researches best practices and analyzes complex operational data to identify trends, key drivers, and opportunities to boost efficiency, reduce costs, and maximize asset utilization. Ensures the collection, analysis, and graphical display of meaningful data to track performance levels and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Administers the Performance Measurement Program. Responsible for program-level administration and coordination, including metrics software administration, report preparation, and internal customer support for metric development, data entry, and reporting.
  • Prepares department reports as required. Participates in assigned special inquiries and investigations, and provides input on revising departmental procedures and practices.
  • Must comply with the provisions for environment, safety and health as stated in Standard Procedure 1-3100, General Safety Procedure, and adhere to the Integrated Safety Management System Core Functions and Guiding Principles.
