Continuous Improvement Manager

ID Logistics CanadaMilton, ON
CA$90,000 - CA$95,000Onsite

About The Position

The Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager is a hands-on operational leadership role accountable for identifying, implementing, and sustaining measurable improvements in safety, quality, productivity, capacity, cost, and customer performance. This position is expected to operate directly on the warehouse floor, understand fulfillment process paths in detail, challenge existing practices, and convert operational data into sustainable results. A minimum of three (3) years of direct Amazon operational experience is mandatory. The successful candidate must bring practical knowledge of Amazon fulfillment or logistics operations, including high-volume operating cadence, labor and capacity management, process discipline, hourly performance management, root-cause analysis, and customer expectations. A recognized Lean Six Sigma Belt certification is also required, with Green Belt or higher strongly preferred. This is not solely an analytical, reporting, or project-support position. The CI Manager is expected to own improvements from problem identification through implementation, validation, standardization, and sustainment, with clear accountability for measurable operational results.

Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) years of direct Amazon operational experience within fulfillment, distribution, sortation, logistics, or a comparable Amazon operations environment - mandatory.
  • Recognized Lean Six Sigma Belt certification - mandatory. Black Belt is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Management, Engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience leading Continuous Improvement projects in a high-volume warehouse, e-commerce, fulfillment, distribution, or 3PL environment with quantified results.
  • Strong understanding of fulfillment process paths, labor planning, capacity, productivity, material flow, and operational performance management.
  • Advanced analytical capability and Microsoft Excel proficiency, with strong working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent process-mapping and documentation skills using Lucidchart, Visio, or similar software, including SOPs, Standard Work, project charters, and action plans.
  • Ability and willingness to spend significant time on the warehouse floor, independently identify opportunities, challenge the status quo, and drive actions through completion.
  • Strong leadership presence, ownership, communication, organization, attention to detail, problem-solving, and follow-up skills, with the ability to influence frontline teams, site leadership, senior management, and customer stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment where priorities, volume, and customer requirements can change rapidly.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify bottlenecks, waste, process variation, labor inefficiencies, capacity constraints, quality defects, and productivity losses across Inbound, Outbound, ICQA/inventory, material flow, and supporting functions.
  • Lead Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, DMAIC, PDCA, 5S, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, and structured problem-solving initiatives from current-state assessment through sustained implementation.
  • Apply direct Amazon operational experience to translate customer expectations, fulfillment standards, operating cadence, and performance requirements into sustainable ID Logistics processes.
  • Analyze operational data and establish clear baselines, targets, milestones, owners, and expected operational or financial benefits for CI projects.
  • Develop and maintain performance analysis for throughput, productivity, labor utilization, capacity utilization, quality, defects, backlog, service performance, and cost.
  • Conduct floor observations, time studies, and detailed process reviews; develop accurate current-state and future-state process maps, SOPs, Standard Work, and visual controls.
  • Lead root-cause analysis using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa, Pareto analysis, process mapping, and statistical analysis, ensuring corrective actions address verified root causes rather than symptoms.
  • Partner with Operations to validate labor standards, productivity rates, equipment requirements, process capacity, and space utilization, and identify opportunities to increase throughput without compromising safety or quality.
  • Support operational ramp-ups, peak planning, new process implementation, capacity expansion, and stabilization activities in a fast-paced fulfillment environment.
  • Build dashboards, trackers, models, and management reporting that enable leaders to identify performance gaps quickly and take corrective action.
  • Coach Operations leaders and cross-functional teams on Lean thinking, structured problem solving, data analysis, process discipline, and sustainment of improvements.
  • Drive accountability for CI actions, timelines, deliverables, and sustainment; present findings, risks, recommendations, and quantified results to site leadership and customer stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate measurable improvement in productivity, labor efficiency, capacity, cycle time, quality, process compliance, equipment/space utilization, operational bottlenecks, and customer service levels.
