About The Position
This internship focuses on assisting with Continuous Improvement projects throughout the organization. The intern will gain hands-on experience in data analysis, process mapping, and Lean principles within a manufacturing environment. The role involves collaborating with various teams to identify and implement improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts such as time studies, line balancing, and 5S principles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collect, analyze, and document operational data
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, and operations
- Must be proficient & knowledgeable with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must be detail oriented and well organized
- Ability to work in-person during the summer
- Currently pursuing a Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
Nice To Haves
- Previous coursework or project experience related to manufacturing, production systems, or engineering analysis preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with Continuous Improvement projects across the organization.
- Collect, organize, and analyze operational data.
- Create and update process maps (VSMs), standardized work, and visual management tools.
- Support KPI tracking and dashboard updates.
- Participate in Kaizen events and problem-solving activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
- Document project progress, action items, and results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support improvement initiatives.
- Prepare presentations and reports for project updates.
- Learn and apply Lean and Continuous Improvement principles.
- Demonstrates SoundOff Signal's Core Values in daily interactions with internal and external customers.
- Able to perform job consistently without excessive absenteeism or tardiness.
- Other duties as assigned.
