About The Position

TC Transcontinental is seeking a Continuous Improvement Advisor to support data-driven improvement initiatives across its manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on, technical role focused on quality and process optimization. The advisor will work closely with production, quality, and supply chain teams to analyze data, improve processes, and implement scalable solutions using Lean, DMAIC, and digital tools. TC Transcontinental, founded 50 years ago, is a Canadian retail marketing services company, Canada's largest printer, and a leader in French-language educational publishing.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or continuous improvement environment (co-op/internship included)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, data analysis)
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and KPIs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, or similar tools
  • Basic knowledge of VBA, SQL, or data manipulation tools
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma

Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and analyze operational data using structured methodologies (DMAIC)
  • Identify trends, inefficiencies, and root causes of quality and production issues
  • Support and execute continuous improvement projects across Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain
  • Track and report KPIs
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports (Excel, Power BI) to improve visibility and decision-making
  • Support development of light automation tools (Power Apps, Power Automate, VBA, or similar)
  • Improve data capture, tracking, and system usage on the shop floor
  • Assist in developing prototype tools/applications to streamline operations
  • Map current-state processes and identify bottlenecks
  • Support implementation of Lean manufacturing initiatives and standard work
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and support timely resolution
  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement improvements
  • Lead or support training sessions on processes, tools, and continuous improvement practices
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and accountability on the shop floor
