Continuing Education Instructor, Alternative Teacher Certification
About The Position
Provide overall support to the Alternative Teacher Certification program by increasing the teacher candidate completion rate. Primary responsibilities include coaching novice teachers and mentors while collaborating with campus administration in order to improve the performance and retention of novice teachers. This position receives general direction from the Program Director, Alternative Teacher Certification and exercises no supervision. Not to exceed 19.5 hours per week. NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- More than three years of professional experience in an educational environment, preferably with a school district.
- Must have a current Texas Teacher certification
