About The Position

Modernistic, a family-owned company with over 50 years of experience in cleaning and restoration services throughout Michigan, is seeking a Contents Technician for their Grand Rapids, MI location. This role is crucial to the Mitigation team, focusing on restoring personal property after fire, water, and smoke damage. The Contents Technician will collaborate with Project Managers to oversee all aspects of contents restoration, including inventory, pack-out, cleaning, and return of items. The ideal candidate should be organized, detail-oriented, and committed to providing compassionate, high-quality service during challenging times for customers.

Requirements

• Previous Contents experience required
• Friendly, cooperative and positive attitude
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Valid Michigan driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to pass a drug screening & background check
• Ability to move or lift 50 lbs. or more

Nice To Haves

• Previous Mitigation experience preferred (Water, Fire & Mold Remediation)
• Chauffeur's License and DOT Certification are a plus
• IICRC certification is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

• Delight customers by providing outstanding customer service in their homes and businesses
• Keep vehicle clean, organized and stocked with necessary equipment and supplies
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Communicate daily with Project Managers
• Documentation/photos of pre-existing damage
• Pack, inventory, photograph, and document household and commercial contents
• Carefully move, load, and transport contents to and from job sites and storage facilities
• Clean, deodorize, and restore contents affected by fire, smoke, water, or mold
• Properly label, wrap, and store items using industry standards
• Perform pack-backs and reinstallation of contents once restoration is complete
• Complete accurate inventory records and job documentation
• Follow company procedures, safety protocols, and insurance guidelines
• Perform mitigation services to IICRC standards as needed
• Emergency On-Call rotation
• Perform contents responsibilities at our other locations as needed
