About The Position

The Head of Contents executes pack outs and pack backs and assists the contents team with coordinating restoration, cleaning, and management of personal property (contents) damaged by disasters such as fire, water, or mold. This position requires leadership, hands-on technical expertise, and effective communication skills to ensure that contents restoration projects are completed efficiently and to the highest quality standards. The Head of Contents also ensures compliance with safety protocols and company policies. This person is also responsible for making sure supplies are ordered. Additionally, this person will also be training lead technicians to prepare them to run jobs. Compensation will be competitve based on experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-5 years in contents restoration or a related field.
  • Leadership experience preferred.
  • Proficient in restoration equipment and techniques, including ozone chambers, hydroxyl chambers, ultrasonic cleaning, and dehumidification.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy items (50+ lbs).
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to smoke, mold, and other environmental conditions.
  • Familiarity with restoration software and digital inventory systems.
  • Encircle experience a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • IICRC certifications (e.g., Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician, Water Damage Restoration Technician, Contents Processing Technician) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of technicians during content restoration projects, specifically for fire and water events.
  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide guidance to team members.
  • Train and mentor new technicians and leads on restoration procedures and company standards.
  • Oversee the packing, inventorying, and safe transportation of clients’ belongings.
  • Assess the extent of damage to personal property and determine appropriate restoration methods.
  • Utilize specialized equipment and techniques to clean, deodorize, and restore items.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of contents in warehouse facilities.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients during the restoration process.
  • Explain restoration processes, timelines, and address client concerns.
  • Maintain a professional and empathetic demeanor when dealing with clients.
  • Create detailed inventories of contents removed from job sites.
  • Document the condition of items before and after restoration, including photographs and reports.
  • Update project progress in company systems and ensure proper record-keeping.
  • Ensure that team members adhere to safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Follow industry standards and regulations related to content restoration and hazardous materials.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot cleaning and restoration equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Report equipment issues promptly and recommend necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Order supplies.
