Provide summary of role. We are seeking an experienced individual to join our team as a Content Marketing Manager. Content is a critical lever for how Summus is understood, trusted, and chosen. In this role you will build a focused, credible content engine that reinforces Summus’ positioning, educates priority audiences, and supports demand generation and sales conversations. This role blends strategy and execution. You will define content themes grounded in audience needs and activate them through high-quality assets used across Marketing, Growth, and Sales. You will work closely with Product Marketing, Growth, and Sales to ensure content is aligned to positioning, supports real funnel motions, and evolves based on performance and feedback. This is a fully remote position based on the West Coast (U.S. Pacific Time Zone).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Journalism, Life Sciences, or a related field required; advanced degree a plus
  • 3+ years of professional experience in Product Marketing, Go-To-Market, Sales Enablement, or a related role
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and precisely
  • Strong audience-centric instincts, knowing what different buyers need to hear and when
  • Comfortable translating complexity into simple, credible narratives
  • Highly collaborative, particularly with Product Marketing, Growth, and Sales
  • Bias toward execution, iteration, and learning through real-world use
  • AI-proficient or eager to use modern tools to move faster and work smarter
  • Proficiency with standard productivity and collaboration tools (Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office)
  • Experience using modern AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gamma, or similar) to accelerate messaging, content creation, and research

Responsibilities

  • Audience-Led Content Strategy
  • Define clear content themes for each priority audience and stage of the funnel
  • Ground themes in real buyer questions, objections, and decision moments
  • SEO & AEO Research
  • Conduct SEO and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) research to inform content strategy
  • Identify high-intent keywords, emerging questions, and credible whitespace opportunities.
  • Content Creation & Activation
  • Develop content assets that activate and nurture leads across the funnel, including educational, decision-support, and proof-oriented content
  • Ensure content is practical, credible, and clearly differentiated
  • Organic LinkedIn Presence (If Capacity Allows)
  • Develop a lightweight organic LinkedIn strategy that reinforces Summus’ point of view
  • Enable a small set of key employees to post thoughtfully and consistently
