About The Position

School of Music student workers support the administrative and production needs of the School of Music. Daily functions include supporting the practice rooms, classes, ensembles, concerts, and recitals throughout each semester. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Duties may include but are not limited to: Conceptualize and produce compelling content for SOM social media accounts, fostering active engagement with our audience. Contribute to ongoing video-driven needs on social, to develop/edit/produce video and concepts. Ensure that all content aligns with SOM and University guidelines to maintain brand consistency. Adhere to the established social media content calendar for timely post publication. Collaborate closely with other creative and university teams for social media assignments. Analyze social media metrics to assess performance and identify areas for improvement. Conduct research on competitor content and promotional strategies to glean insights into industry best practices. Contribute to special projects and events that enhance SOM’s marketing initiatives. Provides excellent customer service to the professors and students of the School of Music. Communicates effectively through both written and spoken means with supervisor, professors, and students. Represents and serves the School of Music in a professional, kind, and humble manner. Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner. Requirements

  • Current Liberty University student in good standing with the University
  • Able to work between 15-20 hours a week
  • Possess a creative mindset, intellectual curiosity, and a desire to learn
  • Able to give and receive creative feedback
  • Understanding of social media platforms
  • High school diploma
  • 1-2 years work experience in any field preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well articulated information.
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
  • Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Computer skills – Microsoft Suite
  • Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
  • May be required to travel across campus on rare occasions
  • May be required to sit to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
  • Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the campus.
  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
  • Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.
