About The Position

The Plumbing Authority is seeking a creative, outgoing, and ambitious Content Creator & Social Media Marketing Intern to help build one of the strongest social media brands in East Tennessee. This is not a typical social media internship; the role involves taking ownership of the company's social media presence, creating standout content, building community relationships, and transforming everyday plumbing into engaging content. The intern will create content at job sites, film technicians, attend community events, partner with local businesses, brainstorm campaigns, and contribute ideas that matter. For the right candidate, this internship offers the potential to grow into a full-time career.

Requirements

• Loves creating social media content.
• Excellent photography and videography skills.
• Knows how to film and edit engaging short-form video.
• Experience using Canva and other creative tools.
• Understands what performs well on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
• Creative, outgoing, and comfortable meeting new people.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Organized enough to maintain a consistent posting schedule.
• Takes initiative and doesn't wait to be told what to do.
• Desire to help build something, not just maintain it.

Nice To Haves

• Experience managing or growing social media accounts for a business, organization, or personal brand.
• Experience with CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar editing software.
• Photography and videography experience.
• Graphic design experience using Canva.
• Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related coursework.
• Currently enrolled in a college, university, or technical program, or a recent graduate.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout the Knoxville area for content creation and community events.

Responsibilities

• Plan, create, and manage content across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms.
• Develop and maintain a consistent content calendar and posting schedule.
• Film, edit, and publish engaging Reels, TikToks, Shorts, and other short-form video content.
• Create graphics and social media assets using Canva.
• Write compelling captions and social media copy.
• Monitor engagement and interact with followers.
• Track analytics and recommend ideas to improve engagement and audience growth.
• Stay updated on trends, new platform features, and emerging content styles.
• Visit job sites to capture photos and videos of technicians, projects, equipment, and customer experiences.
• Create behind-the-scenes content showcasing people, company culture, and operations.
• Conduct interviews with technicians, customers, and community partners.
• Capture content highlighting the technical aspects of plumbing and the personalities of the team.
• Edit content into engaging stories that educate, entertain, and build trust.
• Research and identify local events, sponsorships, and outreach opportunities.
• Plan and coordinate participation at local events.
• Develop creative booth activities, contests, giveaways, and interactive experiences.
• Capture event content.
• Represent The Plumbing Authority professionally at events.
• Develop relationships with local businesses, nonprofits, schools, and community organizations.
• Pitch creative collaboration ideas.
• Help position The Plumbing Authority as an active community member.
• Contribute creative ideas to make content more interesting and engaging.
