About The Position

Backyard Breaks is seeking a Content Clipper to monitor live broadcasts, identify shareable moments, and transform them into polished, ready-to-upload content for social media channels. The role involves actively watching streams, spotting significant pulls, humorous reactions, sports discussions, and other noteworthy events, then clipping, timestamping, and packaging this content for the content team while the moments are still relevant. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for viral potential and a proactive approach to content creation.

Requirements

• Ability to recognize a shareable moment instinctively.
• Understanding of memes, reactions, sports culture, and viral trends.
• High level of attention to detail and focus during live streams.
• Ability to move quickly while maintaining accuracy in timestamps, clip quality, and organization.
• Understanding of content pacing and payoff.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple concurrent content opportunities.
• Ability to make independent content decisions without constant direction.
• Genuine enjoyment of watching sports, collectibles, personalities, live reactions, and internet culture.
• Understanding of sports, collectibles, internet culture, and live entertainment.
• Ability to recognize when a player or card is significant, a pull is huge, a sports take is controversial, a reaction is noteworthy, a storyline is relevant, or the chat is reacting to something important.
• Comfort working with video and digital content tools for capturing, trimming, organizing, and preparing clips.
• Familiarity with tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, stream clipping or screen capture tools, Google Drive, and Google Sheets or similar tracking systems.
• Ability to find the right moment, make the right cut, and deliver it quickly.
• Understanding the difference between something that happened and something people will want to watch.
• Ability to recognize the story within a stream, whether it's the card, the reaction, a preceding conversation, or a hilarious exchange.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with video, clipping, editing, social media, or creator work.
• Knowledge of specific platforms and editing tools.
• Following specific sports and creators.
• Ability to provide examples of effective content and explain why it works.
• Demonstrated ability to decide if a moment deserves to become a clip.

Responsibilities

• Watch Backyard Breaks live streams with a content-first mindset.
• Identify the best moments happening across broadcasts in real time.
• Capture and create clips from live and recorded stream footage.
• Accurately timestamp standout moments for quick retrieval.
• Prepare clips for distribution across platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
• Organize clips with context (what happened, when, why it matters).
• Flag major pulls, huge reactions, funny exchanges, sports takes, debates, celebrations, fails, and unexpected moments.
• Make clean cuts that preserve the impact of the moment.
• Add basic edits or formatting to make content upload-ready.
• Keep pace with multiple streams and a dynamic content environment.
• Communicate quickly when immediate posting is required.
• Build a library of moments for immediate posts, compilations, recaps, and future content.
