About The Position

The Content & Communications Manager will oversee the creation, coordination, and execution of content across key Redeemer Downtown curricula, products, and teaching series. This role blends storytelling, content strategy, and copyediting, with a strong emphasis on clarity, theological faithfulness, and excellent design-forward communication. This role works closely with the Redeemer Downtown leadership team, ministry leaders, and external creatives as needed.

Requirements

  • Alignment with Redeemer’s vision and values in New York City.
  • Minimum four years of college.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
  • Experience in content creation, communications, or marketing (church or nonprofit experience a plus).
  • Comfort working across mediums: written, visual, and digital.
  • Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Design sensibility and familiarity with tools like Canva, Pro Presenter, Adobe, or similar (hands-on or collaborative).
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to communicate theological and ministry concepts clearly, thoughtfully, and accessibly.
  • Excellent use of grammar, detail orientation, and eye for design.
  • Strong storytelling instincts and an eye for brand, tone, and visual cohesion.
  • Ability to translate vision into practical content across multiple formats (email, web, print, social, curriculum resources).
  • Experience supporting or promoting tools, products, or programs through clear messaging and launch communications.
  • Comfortable collaborating with pastors, ministry leaders, designers, and external partners.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and feedback loops simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with digital tools such as CMS platforms, email marketing tools, and design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe, Kajabi, etc.)
  • An ability to work independently with minimal oversight while remaining responsive and collaborative.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain clear messaging frameworks for Redeemer Downtown’s products, platforms, curricula, and sermon series.
  • Translate pastoral vision and theological concepts into accessible, compelling content for a broad audience.
  • Manage content calendars for email, web, and social platforms.
  • Repurpose teaching and curriculum content into multiple formats on various platforms.
  • Implement launch plans and promotional content and build repeatable content workflows for all products.
  • Maintain documentation and content systems to ensure future work is scalable.
  • Support the content and communications needs of all Redeemer Downtown products, including, but not limited to:
  • Inside RDT Magazine – editorial planning, content coordination, layout collaboration, and distribution strategy.
  • Formed – product promotion, launch messaging, and ongoing product engagement.
  • Curious Faith (2026/2027) product promotion, storytelling, and audience-facing communication.
  • The Story (2027) – early-stage product content development, narrative framing, and foundational messaging.
  • Coordinate feedback and revisions to all products in a clear, organized way.
  • Work closely with Communications Director and ministry leaders to draft all RDT Weekly Emails, responses, workflows, announcements, and campaign messaging.
  • Ensure consistency of voice, tone, and brand across all platforms.
  • Write and edit copy for all content for Redeemer Downtown curriculum and teaching initiatives, including, but not limited to Exploring Marriage, Married Together, Parent Together, Single Together, Women’s Studies, Sermon Series, Men’s Studies, The Story Course, and Formed.
  • Write descriptions for Planning Center events, gatherings, and initiatives.
  • Develop curriculum-facing content (introductions, guides, promotional copy), create supporting communications for participants and leaders, design or collaborate on visual assets (slides, PDFs, digital resources), and support sermon series branding and rollout.
