About The Position

The Contemporary Music Staff brings their instrumental or vocal gifts, abilities and skills to create a worship environment that glorifies God and builds up the Church. They will participate in weekly worship and special events.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent experience
2-5 years | Church and secular environments
Providing own instruments when appropriate
Strong vocal and/or instrumental skill, solid sense of rhythm and pitch, and the ability to learn and execute music accurately across contemporary worship styles.
Ability to work well under leadership, follow direction, communicate clearly, and function cohesively within a worship band and production environment.
Skill in engaging and guiding the congregation through confident presence, expressive worship, and appropriate use of dynamics and cues.
Demonstrates a growing faith, servant-hearted attitude, consistency in preparation and punctuality, and alignment with the church’s mission and values.
Communicates with clarity and warmth across diverse audiences
Demonstrates integrity, humility, and alignment with Christ Church’s values
Collaborates effectively across teams and ministries
Organizes and prioritizes work to meet goals with excellence
Learns quickly and adapts to new tools, systems, and challenges

Responsibilities

Model worship for the Contemporary team and congregation through attitude and actions.
Come musically and spiritually prepared to rehearsal and worship.
Engage with the tools and resources provided by staff.
Attend scheduled rehearsal, service and ministry events punctually.
Engage in ongoing personal and professional development through training, reading, coaching or mentoring, in order to grow as a leader and servant of Christ.
Demonstrate and model Christ Church’s core values in daily work, relationships and service to others.
Maintain a posture of flexibility by assisting with projects or assignments outside the immediate scope of the role when needed.
Contribute to a culture of grace, care and prayer by being available to support, encourage and pray with staff and volunteers and congregants as appropriate.
Support and model individual spiritual formation i.e. Worship, Grow and Serve.
Regularly attends worship and participates in ministry events at Christ Church or a Christ Church campus unless exempted by Christ Church leadership.
