About The Position

The Processing Technician ensures the safe and effective treatment and handling of containerized wastes. The role involves receiving, screening, unloading, treating, and tracking incoming waste streams and outgoing residuals. Technicians process manifests, oversee off-loading and storage, use handheld barcode scanners to maintain records and inventory, operate forklifts, collect and analyze samples, consolidate compatible waste streams, and keep containers in designated storage areas. Additional related duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

Review, sign, and process incoming manifests, noting discrepancies.
Direct off-loading operations for receipt of primarily non-bulk containers into facility storage systems.
Use a handheld barcode scanner as the primary internal recordkeeping system to support safe handling and inventory of containerized wastes.
Operate forklifts to handle non-bulk containerized wastes.
Collect and analyze waste samples.
Consolidate like-wastes wherever possible to improve economic outcomes.
Store waste containers properly in designated plant storage areas.
Assist in generating internal barcode labels and place them accurately on containers as received.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
