About The Position

Clean Harbors is hiring a Container Mechanic in Cleveland, Ohio. The role involves preparing, inspecting, fabricating, cutting, welding, patching or replacing tarps on containers at Clean Harbors sites and customer locations, including refineries. The mechanic records time and materials in an electronic repair order system. The company provides welding equipment and a service truck, and the role requires a valid driver's license.

Requirements

Welding (MIG and stick) and mechanical experience in a fabrication or repair shop environment.
Successful completion of a structural welding test.
Valid driver's license and a clean three-year driving record.
Ability and willingness to wear a respirator; must be clean-shaven.

Nice To Haves

Experience performing flat welding with steel.
Welding certification.

Responsibilities

Prioritize health and safety by complying with safe work practices, policies, and processes.
Perform compliance and safety inspections, correct equipment deficiencies, and conduct preventive maintenance on company-owned equipment.
Perform welding, cutting, grinding, mechanical repair, and other metalworking tasks associated with container repair.
Maintain shop housekeeping and building maintenance, including welding systems, repair equipment, and shop tools.
Prepare equipment surfaces before painting and apply paint or similar coatings using HVLP, airless, or manual tools and processes.
Fabricate, cut, and weld roll-off containers.
Produce quality work in accordance with established standards.
Record time and materials in the electronic repair order system.
Keep the company truck clean, tidy, and free of hazards.
Perform other welding duties and tasks assigned by management or required by business needs.
