About The Position

As a professional Class A truck driver, you will be responsible for the successful and timely delivery of shipping containers to the various port of Oakland as well as other facilities in which the Adams Group conducts business. Truck drivers must always obey all safety protocols, follow all instructions, and must possess a strong work ethic and have exemplary communication skills.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Minimum 2 years of truck driving experience
Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
TWIC Card (required for port drayage operations)
Clean driving and background record, including no DUI or felony convictions within the past three years
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work within a team
Strong work ethic and exemplary communication skills

Nice To Haves

Experience operating Kenworth T800 trucks
Familiarity with Samsara ELD or similar electronic logging devices

Responsibilities

Safely operate and control heavy-duty trucks (including tractor/trailer combinations over 24 tons)
Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions with precision
Perform coupling/uncoupling of trailers, including landing gear, air lines, electrical connections, and fifth-wheel locks
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
Perform minor vehicle maintenance (fueling, checking oil/fluids, minor repairs)
Follow safety procedures and protocols consistently
Promptly report issues, incidents, or safety concerns
Adhere to food safety policies and procedures
