About The Position

Waste Connections is seeking a safety-focused Residential Load Garbage Truck Driver to provide trash and disposal services to the local community from its Alvin, Texas location. The driver safely operates a commercial CDL truck, services customers, and handles dumpsters and loads. The work is performed year-round in varied weather and environments and involves substantial physical activity around heavy diesel equipment. The role requires a self-motivated attitude and a focus on courteous customer service.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Have a satisfactory driving record.
Hold a Class A or Class B CDL.
Be able to work Monday through any day of the week, starting as early as midnight.
Be physically comfortable with the demands of the job, including consistent walking and strenuous physical work involving heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a commercial CDL truck in residential, construction, commercial, and other environments.
Use hydraulic hand controls to lift and load dumpsters onto and off the truck.
Secure dumpster loads, cover them appropriately, and account for weight shifts before departing.
Read route sheets and service each customer listed or assigned by the dispatcher.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Interact courteously with customers.
Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
