About The Position

Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada (CCCN) is seeking a full-time, on-site Contact Center Care Coordinator - Referrals in the Henderson area. In this position, you will work in a fast-paced, high-volume oncology practice with some of the best physicians in their fields while providing care to patients in a successful healthcare organization. The role involves professionally greeting and welcoming patients and their friends/family, answering, screening, and directing all incoming calls to appropriate personnel, and relaying messages between patients and clinical staff. The position supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards, and US Oncology’s Shared Values.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least eighteen (18) months of front medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software is required.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) is required.
• Must complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying the position.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors to the clinic in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.
• Checks in patients and informs clinical staff of patient arrival.
• Provides and explains paperwork for the patient to complete before the examination.
• Collects, proofs for completeness, and scans/files patient forms.
• Updates demographics and insurance information in the system.
• Collects co-pays and balances; provides receipts.
• Answers phone calls in a prompt, courteous, professional manner. Screens, and responds to routine questions via phone, electronic communications, or face-to-face contact, routes to appropriate personnel or takes thorough messages.
• Pages clinic personnel as appropriate.
• Communicates messages in an accurate and timely manner according to procedures
• Records patient cancellations and missed appointments.
• Reschedules
• Notifies appropriate staff of the cancellation and makes notes in the patient chart.
• Schedule outside consults/procedures ordered by a physician.
• Provides general administrative support by scanning/filing charts and forms or ensuring they are sent to the appropriate department/personnel for filing and scanning.
• Maintains lobby area in a neat and orderly manner.
• Maintains a legible supply of forms and appropriate office supplies required for daily activities.
• Adheres to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) laws and guidelines regarding patient records.
• Schedules all CT (CAT) scans, and PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scans, once approved by insurance.
• Maintains the chart message and anything that is in the queue.
• Scans and copies of updated insurance cards.
