About The Position

Church & Dwight is seeking a Senior Consumer Scientist to join their team. This role is responsible for understanding the consumer's perspective and utilizing agile research methods to gather insights that improve the overall consumer experience. The Senior Consumer Scientist will lead product and consumer research within specific categories to inform product development and Innovation R&D. This position involves partnering with R&D teams to establish project goals and performance standards for product research, offering guidance based on test results, and creating comprehensive research plans that incorporate both qualitative and quantitative approaches. The role also entails developing strategic research plans for a thorough understanding of consumers and products, managing vendor selection and research design, and analyzing data to provide actionable insights. Collaboration with the Marketing Research Division (MRD) is key for creating integrated test plans, and the role includes educating internal stakeholders on the importance of the consumer experience.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Social Sciences or related field.
  • 5+ years in a consumer insights role.
  • Experience with consumer and product research methodologies.
  • Experience designing and executing qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Ability to identify consumer needs and understand product usage.
  • Big-picture mindset with cross-project insight capability.
  • Agile thinker with test-and-learn approach.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Skilled in data analysis and interpretation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with fragrance or flavor sensory testing is a plus.
  • Comfortable with DIY data platforms.
  • Familiarity with advanced statistical methods is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and collaborate with R&D partners to define project objectives and action standards for product research.
  • Provide recommendations and direction based on test findings.
