About The Position

University Credit Union is hiring a Consumer Loan Underwriter! UCU is looking for someone who brings strong decision making skills, curiosity, and a thoughtful approach to lending while keeping members at the heart of every decision. If you enjoy analyzing details, weighing risk, and finding responsible ways to say yes, this role is for you. The successful candidate will evaluate loan applications, approve loans within their authority, and partner with their supervisor on more complex decisions, all while structuring loans to support both member success and organizational goals. They will also look for additional lending opportunities by analyzing credit reports and identifying ways to better meet member needs. With strong communication skills, comfort with technology, and the ability to stay organized in a fast paced environment, they will play a key role in delivering consistent decisions and a great member experience from start to finish.

Requirements

Prior loan approval authority is desired
Experience in consumer lending
Solid understanding of credit risk
Strong decision making skills
