About The Position

The Consumer Loan Funder is responsible for providing accurate and efficient analysis, funding, and booking of consumer loans. This includes the preparation of all loan documents processed through digital banking, phone, and branches. This role is also responsible for maintaining proper documentation as required on all loan files and records.

Requirements

  • Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
  • A high school education or GED.
  • Good working knowledge of credit union policies, procedures, products and services, loan underwriting and credit analysis, federal regulations, audit and security procedures, and our data processing system.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to maintain accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independent and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional member service skills.
  • Requires strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-management skills, with the ability to exercise tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality in sensitive situations. Frequent contact with members and external organizations necessitates the ability to build rapport, influence outcomes, resolve conflicts, and maintain productive working relationships while representing the credit union in a professional manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of internal lending class or Consumer Lending School is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage all relevant Consumer Loan Funder queues to keep applications worked and loans posted with minimal wait time to members. This includes managing the applications submitted through the online and mobile channel.
  • Ability to interact positively with members to finalize loan documents and book loan.
  • Responsible for reviewing loan documentation and obtaining signatures as required.
  • Ability to properly prepare all loan documentation required for closing. Verify all underwriting loan stipulations have been met prior to closing and transmit all documents.
  • Must meet established loan funding time requirements.
  • Accurately disburse loan proceeds, including paying off applicable creditors.
  • Responsible for ensuring loan documentation accuracy. This includes compliance with all laws, regulations, and credit union policies and procedures related to the applicable product.
  • Responsible for maintaining knowledge of credit union consumer lending policies and procedures.
  • Generate and disburse adverse action forms, as applicable.
  • Must maintain an audit error percentage at or below established standard.
  • Effectively communicate with loan originators, loan analysts, and other departments to ensure timely and accurate loan processing.
  • Provide excellent member service through daily transactions, member inquiries, and problem resolution.
  • Accurately enter loan maintenance after loan is funded when required.
  • Answer phone calls and/or video chat requests from members in a timely manner.
  • Thorough knowledge of our ancillary products and services.
  • Ability to review loan application for missed opportunities and match ancillary products and/or services to their needs.
  • Maintain open line of communication with teammates to ensure all detailed information is shared.
  • Ability to back up Consumer Loan Originator as needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
