About The Position

At Oregon State Credit Union, we are passionate about creating financial solutions that make lives better, and our Consumer Lending team plays a vital role in helping members achieve their financial goals. As the Credit Union continues to grow and evolve, we have a new role for our team, we are looking for a Consumer Lending Consultant who is motivated by providing exceptional member‑service, and committed to delivering exceptional lending experiences. As a Consumer Lending Consultant, you will build strong member relationships through a consultative sales approach with a primary focus on consumer lending products and services. You will engage members across multiple channels (phone and digital), process loan applications accurately and efficiently, and guide members clearly through the lending process from initial inquiry through funding. Working in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment, you will combine strong lending knowledge with exceptional service to help members find tailored solutions that best fit their financial needs.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates strong consultative sales skills with the ability to understand member needs and recommend consumer lending solutions in their best interest.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of consumer loan products, credit reports, loan documentation, and lending concepts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain loan options, decisions, and next steps clearly and professionally.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships, actively listen, and deliver high‑quality member experiences in every interaction.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to process information quickly and accurately while managing multiple applications and priorities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment with frequent data entry and multitasking.
  • Minimum two years of lending or servicing experience at a financial institution required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with the public in a production or sales‑focused environment strongly preferred.
