About The Position

Provides credit processing support on Consumer Loan applications to customers, branches, dealerships, and third-party vendors from application entry through decision. Ensures Bank regulatory compliance and that customer documentation is received and saved to the electronic customer file.

Requirements

Associates degree, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 2 years’ higher education and/or work experience.

Responsibilities

Work with internal departments, external customers, and third-party vendors to obtain credit-related documentation or necessary information for applications (e.g., Verification of Employment, IRS transcripts, title search, appraisal, bank statements).
Maintain effective communication with all parties involved in a new loan application to ensure a seamless and positive experience.
Provide routine credit processing support and answer questions on requested documentation for direct consumer credit and indirect dealer applications.
Review customer documents, notate receipt, index, and add to the electronic file.
Maintain an understanding of multiple systems, businesses, and product lines to support activities.
Provide coverage for processing items via shared email boxes related to application and subordination documentation.
Review departmental procedures and update as needed.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls.
Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points and issues raised by external regulators.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
