About The Position

Responsible for reviewing loan documentation for accuracy and compliance to regulatory requirements and for properly securing collateral for the bank. This role serves as a key connection between branch staff, customers, and underwriters. You'll take incoming calls from branches and customers, answer questions, and provide status updates on loan applications. You'll help move applications through the system, manage call queues, and distribute files to underwriters for review. You'll also support underwriters by handling internal and external subordination requests, tax returns, monitoring income work-outs, and assisting with credit bureau inquiry removals.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Audit loan documents received from originating source for accuracy and compliance to regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate to originating source any errors contained within the documents.
  • Prepare daily balance of batch work to mainframe systems.
  • Prepare documentation to secure collateral interest for the Bank.
  • Determine and prepare appropriate documents (i.e. appraisal, title flood, insurance, bankruptcy, auction) and submit request to designated agency
  • Perform scheduled follow-up process to ensure documents are received in a timely manner.
  • Review collateral insurance qualification for impacted collateral, and determine appropriate steps in claims processing procedure.
  • Research and process routine monetary transactions.
  • Communicate with external department to acquire documentation required in research process.
  • Perform in-depth customer service functions.
  • Assist internal and external customers with detailed issues relative to specific account information, monetary transactions, or required account documentation.
  • Validate transaction file for daily disbursement of funds to appropriate source.
  • Daily files to dealer sources exceed $10 million.
  • Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
  • Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.
