About The Position

Huntington's internship programs provide emerging talent with meaningful, hands-on experience aligned to their area of study. Over the course of the interns’ time at Huntington, they gain exposure to key business functions across all segments of the organization. An intern’s experience should be focused on professional growth, skill development, and practical application of academic learning. Interns participate in a structured series of development opportunities, including interactions with senior leadership and career pathing insights. The experience also includes immersion in Huntington’s award-winning culture through community involvement and team-based activities. Internship Opportunities at Huntington: Huntington offers internship opportunities for students who are currently enrolled in an academic program and seeking practical, hands-on experience in their field of study. Internships take place during a defined period of time and are available across all business segments. Rising juniors (Winter 2028 or Spring 2029 grads) may participate in Huntington's Foundations Program, an 8-week, regionally focused experience where students partner directly with a manager and team, contribute to meaningful projects, build professional skills, and explore career opportunities across Huntington and the financial services industry. Rising seniors (Winter 2027 or Spring 2028 grads) may participate in the Enterprise Internship Program, an 11-week, role-aligned experience where students work directly with a manager and team on meaningful business initiatives. In addition to hands-on project work, participants gain exposure to executive leadership, participate in Huntington's innovation project, and build connections that may lead to future full-time opportunities. All interns participate in a variety of developmental and professional activities designed to support learning and exposure to the organization. Depending on your school year, program components may include: Experience in day-to-day responsibilities related to their assigned team, Exposure to broader business functions, A structured schedule of professional development sessions, Opportunities to engage with members of the Executive Leadership Team, Discussions with senior leaders regarding career paths and Huntington’s business areas, A team project focused on applying Huntington’s innovation framework to a business-relevant problem, Participation in volunteer activities and internal events aligned with Huntington’s culture. Consumer Finance Internship Overview: Within Consumer Finance, interns gain exposure to the products, services, and strategies that help individuals achieve their financial goals through lending, banking, and financial wellness solutions. Students collaborate with experienced professionals on meaningful projects while developing knowledge of consumer lending, customer insights, risk management, product development, and business operations. Opportunities may include exposure to data analysis, customer experience initiatives, process improvement projects, and market research. Successful candidates are curious, collaborative, and interested in learning more about careers in consumer financial services. Opportunities may include exposure to vehicle and consumer lending, mortgage products and processes, credit analysis, underwriting fundamentals, risk ratings, pricing and spreads, portfolio management, and customer relationship strategies. Interns may support projects involving financial analysis, market and consumer research, credit risk assessments, lending operations, process improvement initiatives, and data-driven decision-making. Through cross-functional collaboration, students gain insight into how consumer finance teams evaluate risk, structure lending solutions, and deliver products that help customers achieve their financial goals. Huntington Consumer Finance Internships positions will be in either Columbus, OH, Detroit, MI or Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Requirements

  • High School graduate
  • Enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate accredited University with at least one quarter/semester of school after the completion of the summer program.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and leadership through extracurricular activities and/or work experience
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office® applications
