About The Position

BerryDunn’s Healthcare Analytics Practice Group is seeking a motivated intern to join their Consulting practice, which offers comprehensive data management services to both government and private clients. This full-time, paid internship is ideal for someone looking to start a career in data analytics. The role is based in the Portland, ME office and offers diverse project experiences, including enterprise data management strategy, data quality and system analysis, design and development of data integration, warehousing, business intelligence, and reporting solutions, as well as analytical projects within healthcare analytics. The work environment is collaborative and supportive, fostering client and firm success.

Requirements

  • Course-work in computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics, engineering, or another discipline with substantial quantitative coursework.
  • Interest in developing a wide range of data analytics skills to be applied across multiple, diverse projects in a changing environment.
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • A team orientation with a friendly and professional demeanor and an ability to remain flexible amid changing needs.
  • Ability to work with coworkers and diverse clients through periods of collaboration and self-directed work.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with database programming, data warehouse ETL development, or analytic programming, such as in Microsoft SQL Server or SAS.
  • Training or background in data programming.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools, e.g., Tableau, Power BI etc.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Use database, analytic programming, and ETL tools to implement and maintain data management and warehousing solutions and create valuable data analytics assets for clients.
  • Work with clients and BerryDunn team members to analyze systems, gather requirements, map data pipelines, and assess data quality.
  • Perform data quality analysis, investigate and resolve unusual findings.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into data analysis and management plan specifications.
  • Develop and deliver reports and analytic applications using suitable business intelligence or custom tools to meet client needs.
  • Participate in all aspects of planning, analysis, design, and development of data management, data integration, data warehouse, and business intelligence solutions.
  • Work with senior staff to design approaches to solving clients’ problems.
  • Improve efficiency and reliability of client and BerryDunn data processes.
  • Collaborate with other groups within BerryDunn to provide support for system analysis, data pipeline engineering, and data architecture.
