About The Position

This position is responsible for accurately performing prescription data entry, building and maintaining medication profiles, understanding and applying IPU model variations, processing faxed medication orders, and contacting hospices for prescription clarification. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CPhT credential, and relevant state registrations. Candidates should have at least one year of pharmacy technician data entry experience, strong knowledge of drug names, and familiarity with formulary systems and safety protocols. The position involves working remotely with a dispersed team and requires proficiency in Windows-based applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and pharmacy systems like DocuWare and Infinity. The schedule includes evening shifts Monday through Friday and every fourth weekend.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential
  • Pharmacy Technician in Pennsylvania (PA): must be registered with the PA Board of Pharmacy or obtain registration prior to internal deadline
  • Pharmacy Technician in Tennessee (TN): must be registered with the TN Board of Pharmacy
  • Minimum of one (1) year pharmacy technician data entry experience
  • Strong knowledge of brand and generic drug names
  • Familiarity with formulary systems and medication safety protocols
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a high-volume setting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and professional integrity
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate virtually with a dispersed team
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including rotating weekends and holidays
  • Proficiency with Windows-based applications and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Accurate and efficient typing/data entry skills
  • Experience using pharmacy systems such as DocuWare and Infinity
  • Comfort with troubleshooting remote systems and navigating multiple platforms simultaneously

  • 2+ years of pharmacy technician data entry experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Accurately performs prescription data entry in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Build and maintain accurate medication profiles and MARs (Medication Administration Records) for IPU patients.
  • Understand and apply IPU model variations and profiling requirements for different hospice partners.
  • Review and process faxed medication orders independently, ensuring timely follow-up where needed.
  • Contact hospices to obtain or clarify prescription information and document interactions thoroughly.
