The Otipemisiwak Métis Government is recruiting for a full-time Consultation Historical Research Manager to oversee the Consultation Department Research & Engagement team's work of historical research on Métis communities in Alberta. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Consultation – Research and Engagement, the Consultation Historical Research Manager will lead the team in research using primary resources and knowledge (i.e., Métis scrip records, birth/death/marriage records, community knowledge, etc.) to establish historical narratives of the Métis Nation within Alberta in support of the advancement and protection of Métis rights. Responsibilities include securing funding agreements, administering research programs, and building and maintaining relationships with relevant research partners. The successful candidate will engage meaningfully with Métis citizens and stakeholders, bring an open-minded and solutions-oriented approach, and have the ability to identify innovative opportunities that advance the priorities of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government.
