About The Position

KLR is seeking a Consultant to join their CFO Advisory & Outsourcing Practice. This role involves supporting the day-to-day financial, accounting, and operational needs of multiple clients in an outsourced environment. The position requires executing core accounting functions, assisting with month-end close, preparing account reconciliations, and delivering financial reports with actionable insights. The Consultant will also support cash management, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance matters, while building strong client relationships and identifying opportunities for process improvements and technology implementation. Travel to client sites may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3–6 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a client service or outsourced accounting environment
  • Strong understanding of core accounting principles, including month-end close and financial statement preparation
  • Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting financial reporting processes
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with payroll platforms such as Gusto, Rippling, or similar systems
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and internal teams
  • Detail-oriented with sound judgment and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar is preferred
  • Experience working in both internal accounting and client-facing roles is preferred
  • CPA or progress toward CPA is preferred
  • Exposure to equity management tools such as Carta is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day financial, accounting, and operational needs of multiple clients in an outsourced environment
  • Execute core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, and general ledger maintenance
  • Assist with month-end close, including preparation of journal entries (prepaids, accruals, depreciation/amortization, etc.)
  • Prepare account reconciliations (bank, credit card, balance sheet, and select income statement accounts)
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial packages, including balance sheet and income statement analysis
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial reports and support client discussions with clear, actionable insights
  • Support cash management activities, including bill payments and cash flow tracking
  • Partner with senior team members and clients on budgeting and forecasting processes, including cash flow analysis
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external advisors on compliance matters, including state registrations and annual filings
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and high-quality service delivery
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and support implementation of technology and automation solutions
  • Travel to client sites as needed
