Currently seeking a Consultant Pharmacist to help support our closed door pharmacy team. Ideal candidate would be highly detailed oriented, a driven professional, accurate and precise worker, positive, and have values that align with the company. Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years working in pharmacy setting.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • 1 to 3 years previous working or related experience in long term care; skilled nursing or infusion pharmacy preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy
  • Valid California Pharmacist License; in good standing with Board of Pharmacy

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to all customers
  • Service and satisfy the customer's health care needs in and out of the pharmacy area.
  • Consult with patient or his/her agent regarding a prescription, either prior or after dispensing, or regarding any medical information contained in medication record system or patient chart.
  • Solicit information on a customer's medical history to give appropriate medical advice.
  • Interpret the clinical data in a patient medication record system or patient chart. Ensure patient drug regimen is safe and effective by evaluating new orders for drug interactions, and patient allergy information.
  • Responsible for operational responsibilities in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.
  • Responsible for all activities of pharmacy technicians to ensure that all such activities are performed completely, safely and without risk of harm to patients.
  • Ensure that return requests are processed in a timely manner, and that medications which can be returned for credit, are clearly marked, according to division policy and procedure.
  • Check returned medications against authorized return slips to ensure medications are properly inventoried.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to both licensed and unlicensed personnel.
  • Ensure compliance on all company policy and procedures.
  • Administer vaccinations to patients.
  • Effectively communicate with other healthcare providers.
  • Obtain needed information for new prescriptions and refills via telephone from the prescriber or other person authorized by law.
  • Contact medical offices for treatment authorization request information when necessary and forward information to Reimbursement Dept. for proper billing.
  • Consult with any prescriber, nurse or other health care professional or authorized agent thereof.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient processing and filling of prescriptions.
  • Ensure the accurate and efficient processing and filling of daily and cycle prescriptions.
  • Identify, evaluate and interpret a prescription.
  • Assist licensed personnel in interpreting prescription orders.
  • Handle all other additional responsibilities
  • Keep up-to-date with pharmacy laws and regulations while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure quality controls for pharmacy practice.
