About The Position

BRG Healthcare Analytics professionals bring extensive industry experience to deliver data driven, independent, and innovative approaches to complex legal, regulatory, and business challenges. Our core strength is the ability to harness and analyze large amounts of electronic healthcare data and turn it into meaningful and insightful information. Healthcare companies trust our independent thinking and ability to solve unstructured problems. We serve a range of healthcare clients including payors, providers, life sciences companies, and the legal and financial firms that work with the industry. The Consultant role is a mid- consulting position. This position requires highly motivated problem solvers with solid analytical abilities, strong organizational skills, and a desire to advance within the organization. The work will involve leading and executing engagement work streams that may be either qualitative or quantitative in nature, and responsibilities include design of statistical and financial analysis, modeling of financial data and markets, quality control, development of client deliverables, task delegation, and industry research. This position is based in one of our BRG offices (Boston, Chicago, DC, New York, Nashville, or Tampa) working with colleagues in the office three to four days a week, on average. Job title and compensation to be determined based on qualifications and experience.

Requirements

  • BS/BA with a focus in quantitative analytics (accounting, finance, economics, information systems, mathematics) or related field
  • 3-5 years of prior work experience or educational background in data analytics
  • Prior experience in healthcare/litigation consulting is highly preferred
  • Strong technical skills, including the ability to independently execute complex data analytics in either SQL or R at an advanced level is required
  • Proficiency in additional programming languages ( Python, STATA, SAS, etc.) is considered a plus.
  • Prior experience providing mentorship and delegating project tasks to junior team members
  • Commitment to producing high-quality analysis and attention to detail
  • Keen interest in economic or financial analysis and research
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Desire to work in a team environment
  • Candidate must be able to submit verification of his/her legal right to work in the U.S., without company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage various aspects of small to medium sized client engagements and discrete segments of larger projects.
  • Develop and maintain electronic databases, spreadsheets, and other files as dictated by project needs.
  • Perform and lead detailed research and analysis (e.g., gather, review, and summarize literature and data from the public domain, specialized industry resources, or client, public, and commercial databases).
  • Demonstrate creativity and efficient use of relevant software tools, analytical methods, and computer models to develop solutions.
  • Lead and develop analyses and financial models using transactional data and/or financial data.
  • Provide valuable contributions to client deliverables and expert reports.
  • Delegate tasks and assignments to junior staff while prioritizing assignments and responsibilities to meet goals and deadlines.
