Northern Trust is a global leader in innovative wealth management, asset servicing, asset management, and banking services. Since 1889, the company has been guided by its principles of Service, Expertise, and Integrity. With over 135 years of financial experience and more than 24,000 partners, Northern Trust serves sophisticated clients using leading technology and exceptional service. The Consultant, Financial Crimes Investigator role involves completing investigations to determine if financial crimes have occurred and involve Northern Trust accounts, clients, operations, or employees. The role requires supporting investigations with analysis and documentation, completing Suspicious Activity Reports within prescribed timeframes, and interacting with internal and external parties while maintaining confidentiality. The position also involves consulting with management on complex investigations, serving as a subject matter expert and mentor, potentially managing daily operational activities and reviewing the work of less experienced employees, and completing process improvement projects. The role requires analyzing and coordinating investigation processes, producing metrics for management, operating independently with in-depth financial crimes knowledge, and carrying out activities that are large in scope, cross-functional, and technically difficult. The role is balanced between high-level operational execution and the development and execution of strategic direction for business function activities.
