About The Position

The Consultant works closely with the Employee Benefits team to understand client needs and priorities. You will be responsible for developing strategic relationships with key account contacts. This role may be based out of our Vancouver or Burnaby office location. Both locations are centrally located and easily accessible by SkyTrain and transit with many shops, restaurants and other amenities nearby. Requirements

  • 5+ years of Employee Benefits Insurance Experience, group retirement experience is an asset
  • Life Insurance (LLQP) License or willing to obtain
  • Post-secondary education required and completion of (or working towards) related courses in group benefits (CEBS, GBA designations preferred)
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office knowledge, with focus on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • SELF-STARTERS with an ENTREPRENEURIAL mindset who will take OWNERSHIP of their business
  • INNOVATIVE and open to sharing your ideas

Responsibilities

  • Understand client needs and culture with the support of the VP, Employee Strategies and Business Development Leads
  • Identify gaps and opportunities within your client’s current structure based on their guiding principles
  • Develop strategic relationships with key account contacts
  • Oversee the complete employee benefits cycle: plan design review, provider search, implementation, reporting, renewal negotiations, employee communication
  • Communicate relevant industry trends to your client block to prepare them for long term planning
  • Design and deliver presentations to clients, leading client meetings as well as key employee presentations
  • Review all client facing materials authored by the Client Service Manager and Analyst teams
  • Work closely with insurance partnerships through problem solving, negotiations and maintaining positive relationships
  • Collaborate with the business development team and leadership team on shared client knowledge and insights
  • Understand client needs and priorities, and working with the client and the Client Service Manager to resolve escalated administrative, contractual and financial issues
  • Effectively track and communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly metrics to internal stakeholders and the leadership team
  • Work collaboratively to complete follow-up items from in-person meetings while managing client timelines - communicating meeting activity and client account details to the team for file updates and account management
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
