About The Position

In a context of growth, the OHS consultant acts as an advisor to managers to ensure compliance with health and safety laws and regulations. They actively participate in risk prevention, continuous improvement of OHS practices, and the development of a prevention culture within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, industrial relations, or a related field.
  • Or University certificate in occupational health and safety.
  • Or Any combination of training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Good knowledge of the LSST, LATMP, and associated regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent oral and written communication in French.
  • Valid driver's license (Class 5).

Responsibilities

  • Advise managers on the application of OHS policies and programs.
  • Inform employees and managers of their rights, responsibilities, and obligations.
  • Identify and analyze risks related to different business sectors.
  • Develop, update, and ensure the application of prevention programs.
  • Review OHS policies and procedures.
  • Draft and implement various programs (lockout, working at heights, confined spaces, etc.).
  • Promote a culture of prevention and health and safety.
  • Participate in the implementation of new equipment, ensuring compliance with OHS requirements.
  • Collaborate in the designation of OHS representatives.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations, particularly the LSST, LATMP, and their regulations.
  • Create, coordinate, and lead health and safety committees (CSS).
  • Act as an advisor during meetings.
  • Prepare agendas and draft minutes.
  • Participate in the selection of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Present accident investigations and recommend corrective measures.
  • Follow up on CSS action plans.
  • Organize awareness, mobilization, and recognition activities.
  • Follow up on temporary and permanent corrective measures.
  • Review first aid and accident reporting forms.
  • Lead investigations following incidents and workplace accidents.
  • Travel to sites when required.
  • Complete investigation and analysis reports.
  • Collaborate with human resources during OHS disciplinary interventions.
  • Follow up on CNESST files.
  • Represent the employer before administrative bodies, as needed.
  • Maintain relationships with various external stakeholders.
  • Research and coordinate specialized firm services.
  • Draft various confidential correspondence.
  • Perform any other related tasks.

  • Regional disparity bonus: $4,320 to $5,747
  • Vacation: 15 days (1-3 years of service), increasing with seniority
