About The Position

As a member of CIBC’s Capital Markets Technology team, the Consultant, Data Visualization and Insights is responsible for supporting the delivery of advanced advice in data analytics, providing research and insights, and ensuring senior management has the relevant information to make informed decisions. The Consultant, Data Visualization and Insights provides insights that inform decisions influencing department strategy, performs in-depth analysis of research information to identify opportunities, developers relevant dashboards, and makes recommendations for business use. The role performs tasks of technical depth and breadth, utilizing a solid understanding of business dynamics to conduct impact analysis and provide feedback on problems with recommended solutions involving Business Intelligence. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 2-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years in data analytics, business intelligence, or related roles.
  • At least 2 years of Azure Databricks and PowerBI.
  • At least 2 years of 3Forge.
  • At least 4 years of SQL experience.
  • Degree in a quantitative field (i.e. mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics, engineering, physics, business) or equivalent experience.
  • Exceptional critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills with demonstrated ability to independently identify and analyze business problems and recommend solutions.
  • Knowledge in organization's Information Technology (IT) environment and understand the integration / interdependencies of various processes across a line of business.
  • Ability to think strategically about how to mobilize and engage teams across the enterprise to deliver strategic change.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Python experience.
  • Microsoft Copilot Studio experience.
  • Experience within Capital Markets/Equities.
  • Advanced degree (i.e. MMA, MBAN, MSc, MA, MBA).
  • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of advanced advice in data analytics.
  • Provide research and insights to senior management.
  • Develop relevant dashboards.
  • Make recommendations for business use.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of research information to identify opportunities.
  • Conduct impact analysis and provide feedback on problems with recommended solutions involving Business Intelligence.
  • Build interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or Python visualization libraries.
  • Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets to uncover trends and opportunities.
  • Identify and recommend changes that enhance operations whether through technology or other processes to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the department.
  • Drive, manage and execute data and reporting projects and initiatives in alignment with CIBC Strategy while supporting the business goals, objectives and key performance indicators.
  • Effectively articulate ideas and opinions that involve analysis, processes, and technology solutions to others with different disciplinary backgrounds.
  • Produce a variety of business documents that demonstrate command of language, clarity of thought and orderliness of presentation.
