About The Position

AECOM Advisory is seeking a dynamic Consultant to support its growing global business. The role involves advising senior-level clients and executive teams on pressing enterprise and strategic needs, leveraging AECOM's expertise in infrastructure design and implementation. Projects range from supporting policy adoption to developing regional toolkits and human resources plans. AECOM Advisory serves a diverse client base including governments, regulatory entities, city agencies, utilities, transit agencies, infrastructure operators, and investors. The team comprises business and policy analysts, economists, commercial strategists, technology architects, and human capital practitioners. They focus on helping clients develop strategy, improve operational performance, and integrate digital systems to create value and community impact. AECOM Advisory positions itself as a new category of consulting firm, drawing on the operational and technical expertise of the broader AECOM platform to provide industry depth and capability-driven insights.   • Bachelors degree and at least 2 years of management consulting or related experience (e.g., technical consulting, analyst roles in business, public policy, economics research, private equity, investment banking or corporate strategy experience); or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Nice To Haves

  • Functional experience in data science analytical techniques and familiarity using multiple public datasets including BLS, BEA, NAICS data, ACS and other geographically-defined socioeconomic datasets.
  • Proficiency with geospatial datasets and software e.g., ArcGIS.
  • Proficiency with input-output or general equilibrium economic modelling tools such as Esmi, IMPLAN or REMI.
  • Proficiency with Stata, R, Python and other programming languages.
  • Proficiency with data visualization techniques, such as with PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Domain expertise in corporate or enterprise/organizational assessment.
  • Domain expertise in project finance and/or infrastructure investment appraisal.
  • Domain expertise in sustainability, climate change, net zero and ESG strategies and frameworks incl. non-financial valuation methodologies.
  • Domain expertise in economic development, industrial policy and market transformation.
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM disciplines
  • MBA, or other Master’s degree in Operational Research, Management, Management Science, Finance, Economics, Systems Engineering and/or related fields; or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Responsibilities

  • Define, lead, and manage multiple tasks within a workstream as part of a larger engagement.
  • Apply existing and hypothesize new solution frameworks to deconstruct, dimensionalize, and analyze client problems.
  • Leverage AI tools to conduct baseline assessments and secondary research.
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews, including with C-suite clients and senior management stakeholders.
  • Conduct business modeling (market sizing, segmentation, penetration, adoption) and investment analysis by building custom discounted cash flow (DCF) Excel models to calculate revenue, cost-benefit analyses (CBA), EBITDA, NPV, IRR, CAGR for client’s policies, projects and programs.
  • Leverage analytical and data visualization tools (e.g., ArcGIS, Costar, IMPLAN, Python, Tableau) to derive patterns, trends and insights from client and third-party datasets to inform client recommendations.
  • Outline, supervise, and provide quality control over analytical tasks assigned to junior team members.
  • Create highly-polished executive-ready decks to build buy-in and convey emerging data-driven insights.
  • Synthesize multiple inputs into coherent insights across a variety of formats; slide decks, written narrative, playbooks, dashboards and toolkits.
  • Contribute to business development through solutions architecture and framework development, technical writing, creating pitch decks, defining AECOM Advisory’s value proposition, bringing commercial acumen around client needs, and supporting logistical and administrative processes for risk management and compliance.
