About The Position

Ramboll is seeking a full-time Consultant to join the Air & Climate Acoustics Team. This position can be based in either one of our Massachusetts offices located in Boston or Westford. As our new Consultant, Acoustical, you will support environmental noise and vibration assessments for clients across high-growth and essential sectors, including infrastructure, renewable energy, ports, transportation, and data centers. You will apply sound measurement, acoustical modeling, regulatory interpretation, and mitigation design skills while learning from experienced consultants in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in acoustics, engineering, physics, environmental science, mathematics, or a related technical discipline
  • 2+ years of experience in acoustical consulting, environmental noise assessments, vibration assessments, or related technical work
  • Familiarity with acoustical measurement methods, environmental noise regulations, and modeling software such as CadnaA, SoundPLAN, or similar tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into clear recommendations for clients and project teams
  • Proficiency with common office tools, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, and OneNote
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and an interest in growing within a consulting environment

Responsibilities

  • Support environmental noise and vibration assessments, noise mitigation design, and acoustical specifications for a variety of public- and private-sector projects
  • Complete technical analyses using acoustical modeling tools such as CadnaA, SoundPLAN, or similar software, including evaluation of potential impacts and mitigation options
  • Perform sound level surveys, vibration measurements, and related field work in settings ranging from dense urban environments to remote project sites
  • Review and interpret local, state, provincial, and federal environmental regulations, standards, and guidance that influence project siting, design, construction, and operation
  • Prepare clear technical reports, figures, and client-ready deliverables that communicate findings, recommendations, and practical next steps
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically 1–2 times per week to support project and client needs.
