About The Position

The Gunter Group (TGG) offers a unique opportunity for exceptionally high performers serious about building a long-term career in consulting through their Consulting Accelerator Program. Participants will learn consulting by doing, contributing to real client work from the start and learning directly from experienced leaders. This program provides structured development over six months, focusing on building the skills and judgment needed to take on greater ownership and eventually lead engagements. TGG is a people-first management consulting firm with a history of workplace awards, known for building trusted partnerships and delivering practical solutions across strategy, execution, people, and technology.

Requirements

  • Military experience in an operational leadership capacity, with a track record of leading teams, navigating complex environments, and owning organizational outcomes.
  • A bachelor’s degree paired with strong academic performance, meaningful leadership experience, and a demonstrated record of initiative.
  • An MBA in progress or recently completed, paired with early-career professional or leadership experience, strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, and a clear intention to transition into consulting.
  • Early professional experience in a corporate, technical, or functional role, demonstrating high performance, independent ownership, and the desire to accelerate into a new career path.
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to learn new industries, technologies, and client contexts quickly.
  • Initiative and ownership, looking for opportunities to contribute rather than waiting to be assigned.
  • Comfort balancing several types of work, including client delivery, business development, and internal initiatives, while maintaining quality and follow-through.
  • The ability to turn ambiguous, incomplete information into clear, structured outputs and communicate your thinking effectively to different audiences.
  • Openness to coaching and feedback, with the ability to adjust quickly based on it.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to live client engagements through research, analysis, and the preparation of decks, models, reports, and other client-ready materials.
  • Turn ambiguous, incomplete information into clear, structured outputs that leaders can bring directly to clients.
  • Progress from behind-the-scenes delivery support toward leading client discussions and presenting your own recommendations, as your skills and confidence grow.
  • Receive regular coaching and feedback from leaders across the firm through a development approach personalized to you.
  • Learn firsthand how leaders at TGG build client relationships, grow accounts, and lead engagements by supporting their work directly.
  • Support business development and proposal work, learning how TGG wins and grows client relationships.
  • Participate in Consulting Capability Deep Dives with firm leaders through structured sessions connecting you to TGG's point of view and approach across the full range of our work.
  • Contribute to internal initiatives and firm-building work alongside your client responsibilities.
