About The Position

Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Construction Technician in our Rockford, IL or Janesville, WI offices. The Technician will support the firm�s construction group on a variety of projects ranging from roadways to underground utility installations. Additionally, this position will assist with the planning, design, and construction of a variety of facilities. This position will also offer the opportunity to work directly with firm clients.

Requirements

2+ years of experience working as a Construction Inspector or Technician on construction projects.
Effective communication, both oral and written, with residents, businesses and public agencies.
Ability to travel throughout the northern Chicagoland and Southern Wisconsin area (own transportation).
Work in a team environment.
Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

Associate's degree in Structural/Architecture and/or Construction Management Technology desired or related field experience.

Responsibilities

Quantity Computation.
Construction Layout/Survey.
Observe, measure and document construction activities.
Complete Construction Reports daily with adequate information on the tasks observed.
Assist project engineers and managers with a wide variety of tasks required during project delivery.
General civil engineering and client service.
