About The Position

Rightfiber is seeking an experienced Construction Technician to install, maintain, and repair essential communication and utility infrastructure. This role involves operating heavy machinery, performing cable splicing, and ensuring all construction projects meet high standards for safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of relevant construction, cable installation, or utility experience.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 130 lbs., climb ladders, and hand-dig ditches.
• Valid driver's license (CDL) or ability to obtain and the ability to comply with FMCSA regulations.
• Basic knowledge of electrical wiring, and troubleshooting equipment.
• Willingness to work non-standard hours, travel as needed, and respond to 24/7 emergencies.
• A strong commitment to accountability, integrity, quality, and extraordinary customer service is required of all team members.

Responsibilities

• Safely install and replace communication and utility lines using maps and staking sheets.
• Drive and operate heavy machinery including trenchers, cable plows, backhoes, and skid loaders.
• Identify and mark underground utilities both manually and electronically using One-Call color codes.
• Mentor junior crew members, strictly adhere to safety protocols, and maintain a hazard-free work site.
• Complete accurate time sheets, expense reports, and CDL driving logs.
