Reporting to the Construction Department Manager, the Construction Technician plays a key hands-on role in executing a wide range of commercial aquatic construction projects. This position involves working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and requires performing light to heavy industrial work.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of relevant construction or industrial experience
  • Valid eligibility to work in Canada (Citizen or Work Visa with SIN)
  • Physically fit and capable of heavy industrial work
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Strong communication, listening, and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Technically inclined with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Reliable team player with the ability to work independently
  • Demonstrates initiative and ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • High School Diploma required
  • Must be 25+ with a valid G driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
  • Must own a reliable vehicle
  • Bondable and highly dependable

Responsibilities

  • Learn and apply trade skills related to: Construction, renovation, and servicing of commercial swimming pools, spas, fountains, and water features (condos, hotels, fitness facilities, etc.)
  • Ceramic tile installation, marbilite application, painting, masonry, cement parging, concrete repair, soldering, demolition, and water chemistry
  • Operate and maintain pool automation systems and industrial tools/equipment
  • Ensure compliance with Ontario Building Code (OBC), Ontario Health Code, and municipal by-laws
  • Collaborate with the Construction team and other internal departments
  • Continuously develop and apply technical and trade-specific skills
  • Upon completion of the probationary period, enroll in an Apprenticeship Program leading to a licensed trade certification
