About The Position

We are seeking a detailed and reliable Construction Technician, Production, responsible for assessing deficiencies, completing repairs in a timely manner, and adhering to construction timelines. This role plays a key part in ensuring homes meet Quality standards by executing clean-up tasks across all stages of construction, including items generated by Project Managers. The Technician also performs 1st and 2nd walk throughs, focusing on critical finishing tasks to support successful home delivery.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in low rise residential construction or finishing trades
  • A valid driver’s license, and regular access to a reliable vehicle
  • Must have own hand tools and tool belt
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in drywall, trim, caulking, silicone and carpentry
  • Knowledge of various framing tools and equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to Quality Standards
  • Comfortable using technology (smartphones, tablets, or computers) to record, review and communicate information
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective communicator, with the ability to collaborate with other Team Members
  • Ability to read and interpret deficiency lists, drawings, and specifications
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a Team in a fast-paced environment
  • Safety awareness and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized site

Responsibilities

  • Complete small outstanding construction repairs at various stages of the home
  • Perform 1st and 2nd Handy’s, including drywall, caulking & trim repairs, floor squeak repairs, and silicone to ensure readiness for the next Trades
  • Address items from handover checklists, PDI lists, and deficiency lists generated throughout the build cycle
  • Install & adjust windows, doors, garage stairs, floor vents, dryer boxes, and trim components, as needed
  • Prepare homes for Built-in-Quality checks, Trades, PDI, and Final Occupancy
  • Support City Inspection readiness by addressing checklist items and coordinating with the Team
  • Report on issues observed in units (ex. floor squeaks or tub/shower movement) and escalate to the Project Manager
  • Address miscellaneous repairs including patching doors, cabinetry touch-ups, caulking cabinetry & fireplaces, and securing hose bibs & water meters
  • Confirm functional performance of moving components (doors, hinge pins, etc.)
  • Perform carpentry repairs that may include straightening bowed walls, floor, or stair squeaks
  • Prepare house for various City Inspections and Project Manager-to-Project Manager handovers
  • Understands how to check décor sketches, knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical completions
  • Perform the installation of yellow boots and safety rails when required
  • Support general site cleanliness and assist Team Members, as needed
  • Contribute and adhere to standardized work processes
  • Perform any other duties, as required
