About The Position

Segra is searching for a qualified and experienced Construction Technician to oversee construction activities on worksites, primarily supervising construction contractors in the field. This role involves planning, implementing, and overseeing construction efforts at multiple work sites within a designated market. The technician will report field progress to the Construction Manager and/or Project Manager to ensure projects are completed within estimated timelines, and will be responsible for the quality of construction activities, ensuring company standards and best practices are used. Requirements

  • 2 years of fiber, Telecommunications, ROW, or relevant construction experience
  • Ability to effectively lead a crew to the completion of and in conformance with schedule, customer requirements and budget guidelines
  • Excellent understanding of construction and permitting prints
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good planning and organization skills to balance and prioritize work
  • Basic experience using Microsoft Excel formulations, Word, Outlook
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the construction activities that take place on the worksite
  • Supervision of construction contractors in the field
  • Plan, implement, and oversee construction efforts at several work sites within their designated market
  • Report on field progress to the Construction Manager and/or Project Manager to ensure all projects are completed within the parameters set forth in the estimated timeline
  • Responsible for the quality of construction activities and ensure company standards and best practices are being used throughout the construction cycle
  • Be part of the 24x7 on call on a rotational basis
  • Assist in monitoring and reporting inventory/material usage during construction cycle
  • Assist with the identification and troubleshooting of construction problems and offer timely and safe solutions
