The Construction Team Technician is a hands-on, field-based role supporting and executing manual labor tasks on active job sites. This role is ideal for someone with a strong work ethic and a background in construction or general labor, eager to contribute to a fast-paced, purpose-driven team. The position emphasizes efficient execution, attention to detail, and adaptability to evolving site conditions, with most training provided on the job.

Requirements

  • Proven hands-on experience operating construction tools and equipment in active job site environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written instructions with precision and execute tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Proven strong work ethic, exceptional reliability, and a proactive team-oriented mindset.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude with demonstrated comfort operating tools, machinery, and equipment.
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
  • Genuine interest in construction technology, innovative building methods, and emerging industry advancements.
  • Ability to work on active construction sites and perform standard on-site labor tasks, including frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around job sites for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and wind.
  • Ability to lift, carry, or move materials weighing up to approximately 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, moving equipment, heights, and other construction-related conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain construction sites by removing debris, hazards, and obstacles to ensure a safe and organized work environment.
  • Execute general construction labor tasks efficiently as directed, including material handling, site cleanup, and basic grading.
  • Dig trenches, backfill, compact earth, and support other foundational site work as needed.
  • Set up, maintain, and dismantle temporary structures such as scaffolding and site barriers.
  • Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment across job sites in support of daily production needs.
  • Handle and move raw materials and supplies to support ongoing operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of material usage and assist with inventory tracking.
  • Assist skilled trades — including carpenters, operators, and concrete workers — as directed by lead technicians and supervisors.
  • Operate hand tools and basic power tools in a safe and effective manner.
  • Support installation, repair, and maintenance of construction components as assigned.
  • Strictly adhere to all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and site-specific standards at all times.
  • Comply with all applicable OSHA construction safety standards (29 CFR Part 1926).
  • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or injuries immediately to the appropriate lead or supervisor.
  • Participate in safety training sessions and job hazard analyses as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment throughout all phases of the project.
  • Collaborate effectively with the construction team, operations staff, and on-site crews to consistently achieve daily production goals.
  • Receive direction from lead technicians and supervisors and respond promptly and efficiently to evolving site conditions and priorities.
  • Demonstrate a proactive learning mindset and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as skills and experience develop.
