About The Position

As the Team Lead, you will lead a crew of employees in servicing and repairing modular buildings. You will coordinate and prioritize the work schedule for the production crew, assign tasks to modular mechanics and general maintenance employees, and verify quality according to company standards. This role is crucial for ensuring productivity, quality, and safety within the team.

Requirements

  • Prior experience of at least 4-6 years in the construction or related industry performing and leading general construction trades required.
  • Able to effectively lead a team and offer guidance and direction.
  • Able to read and understand blueprints, schematics, procedures, and Company specific work orders, work instructions, and floor plans provided.
  • Able to work outside in variable weather conditions.
  • Ability to use both manual and power tools and follow operating guidelines.
  • Ability to safely perform all tasks and understand Company’s safety policies and procedures.
  • Deliver a high-quality output consistent with the Company’s construction standards.
  • Able to take, record, and follow standard measurements and cut or separate materials to specific measurements or quantities.
  • Able to read Company’s construction documents (provided in English) and provide guidance to construction team to complete necessary work.
  • Position requires manual dexterity and the ability to maintain physical activity for most of the day.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and hold or lift a variety of objects.
  • Able to carry, bend, stoop, turn, kneel, crawl, climb a ladder, and perform other manual labor activities.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug testing, including marijuana, as the position is classified as safety-sensitive.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish preferred.
  • Prior experience with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or other specialties preferred.
  • Prior experience overseeing the work of a team of at least 6 employees desired.
  • Knowledge of current building codes to include 2016 CBC and 2018 IBC and ADA a plus.
  • Knowledge of LEAN a plus.
  • Ability to complete material and labor take offs from blueprints a plus.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and prioritize work schedule for production crew.
  • Assign modular mechanics tasks.
  • Learn/train as needed.
  • Verify quality according to company standards.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and construction on modular buildings including plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, and cleaning.
  • Monitor the work of team members to meet productivity, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Ensure team maintains tools, supplies, and work area consistent with the area’s 6S checklist.
  • Actively participate in safety meetings and safety training of crew members.
  • Carry out current industry safety practices, including knowledge of OSHA requirements.
  • Conduct daily and weekly safety audits and document results.
  • Provide continuous training of crew members and new employees.
  • Coach and counsel team members as needed regarding their responsibilities.
  • Act as a backfill for other leaders when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
