Responsible for coordination of the construction on the project including bids and proposals. Coordinates compliance with the schedule, safety, cost, and quality decisions in conjunction with the Project Field Manager. Requirements

  • Direct hire Open-shop Transmission Line/Substation construction experience required.
  • Proposal and Estimating experience within construction.
  • Should have 3+ years of experience as Construction Manager level or above.
  • Should have 8+ years with a degree or 18+ years without degree, of Transmission Line Construction experience.
  • Knowledge of project budget process and tools.
  • Knowledge of department budget process and tools.
  • Knowledge of Project controls.
  • Risk assessment/management.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in construction or engineering and Transmission Line Craft experience as lineman and above preferred.
  • Bilingual/Spanish speaking is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides the site construction teams the means, methods, and staffing to support construction of Transmission Lines and substations.
  • Help lead bids and proposals.
  • Works with EH&S group to develop and maintain safety program associated with Transmission Line Construction activities.
  • Develop Craft Training and Certification program for lineman and groundman trades for Open-shop craft employees.
  • Develops and maintains Construction procedures and quality programs associated with the Construction of Transmission Line work.
  • Identifies and supports the sourcing of tooling and equipment necessary for the installation of Transmission Lines.
  • Identifies and supports the recruiting of craft and leadership associated with the project work.
  • Supports Transmission Line project proposals including development of staffing, equipment, and other direct and indirect quantities and costs to support estimate development.
  • Leads and participates in design constructability reviews.
  • Supports subcontract developments for projects as needed.
  • Active involvement in project risk reviews including identifying and developing mitigation plans associated with Transmission Line Construction.
  • Assists site team in resolving problems and reports on issues related to drawings and information, schedule, quality, quantity tracking, cost reporting, and safety.
  • Monitors discipline construction productivity, progress, and cost, and reports to Operations Manager, Construction Manager and Project Controls Manager.
  • Takes necessary actions to maintain targets.
  • Develops corrective plan to ensure progress and productivity targets are met.
  • Verifies that all equipment, material, manpower and resources needed to support Project Schedule are available and on site.
  • Reviews all timesheets, installed quantity reports, and progress payment request.
  • Develops a stable working relationship with Client and assigned subcontractor(s).
  • Develops and distributes a Job Hazard Analysis for major erection packages within scope.
  • Identifies potential back charges and out of scope issues and reports to Construction Manager.
  • Supports commercial recovery process.
  • Provides supervision, training, development, and performance management to direct reports.
  • Adheres to safety and quality standards as applicable to duties and accountabilities.
  • Supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements.
