About The Position

Greater Middlesex & Morris Habitat for Humanity is seeking an energetic, professional Construction Supervisor to lead job site operations, build community relationships, and train enthusiastic teams of volunteers. This full-time role serves as the primary on-site ambassador for our mission to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter across the organization's servicing area. Based out of our central office in Randolph, New Jersey, you will directly report to the Project Manager and oversee daily job site productivity, safety, and community volunteer alignment. This role reports to the Project Manager and is based out of Morris Habitat for Humanity’s office in Randolph, New Jersey .

Requirements

  • Proven, practical experience in residential framing, roofing, carpentry, or general contracting.
  • Thorough operational understanding of residential builds, building blueprints, and structural standards.
  • A valid New Jersey Driver’s License and active automotive liability insurance for regional site travel.
  • Reliable personal transportation to travel smoothly to scattered construction locations across our territory.
  • Site Supervisors are one of the most visible ambassadors for HFH, and as a result, they will be asked Habitat-related questions from volunteers, public officials, and even the news media. Therefore, each Site Supervisor should know enough about HFH to field at least the basic questions.

  • Proactive mindset focused on self-assessing skills and working with project managers to expand technical competencies.
  • Conversational proficiency or fluency in Spanish is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and allocate resources daily to maximize workflow efficiency and meet construction milestones.
  • Educate, demonstrate, and guide diverse volunteer crews and family partners in safe, proper home-building techniques.
  • Conduct safety briefings, manage job site tools, and rigorously enforce OSHA guidelines to maintain incident-free workspaces.
  • Act as an upbeat public ambassador for GMM Habitat engaging warmly with public officials, news media, and community sponsors.
  • Document and maintain records of volunteer hours, labor exchanges, and project material tracking.
  • Execute production-level construction work on-site during operational windows when direct supervisor actions are complete.
