About The Position

The Scaffolding Supervisor serves as the on-site subject matter expert and primary point of contact for all scaffolding activities supporting the construction of hyperscale and enterprise data centers. This role is responsible for ensuring that scaffolding systems are safely planned, erected, modified, inspected, and dismantled in full compliance with OSHA requirements, project specifications, engineered designs, and industry best practices. Working closely with general contractors, trade partners, safety professionals, engineers, and construction management teams, the Supervisor provides leadership, technical expertise, and oversight to ensure scaffolding solutions enable safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution while supporting critical schedule milestones and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 10 years of construction experience, including at least 5 years in scaffolding supervision or management.
  • Experience on large-scale industrial or mission-critical projects (data center, semiconductor, power generation, petrochemical, or pharmaceutical); Owner's representative experience and projects exceeding $100M in construction value preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA scaffold standards (29 CFR 1926 Subpart L), tube & clamp, system and suspended scaffolds, shoring, stair towers, and fall-protection systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret scaffold engineering drawings, construction drawings, structural details, load calculations, and work packages.
  • Required certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Construction, Competent Person – Scaffolding, and First Aid/CPR.
  • Strong safety leadership, contractor management, risk management, and construction-planning skills, with excellent communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
  • Physically able to walk active construction sites daily, climb ladders, stair towers, and scaffold systems, access elevated work areas, navigate uneven terrain, and work outdoors in varying weather while wearing required PPE for extended periods.
  • Pre-employment screening, including background check and substance testing may be required according to company policies.
  • Must provide own steel-toed work boots; other PPE will be supplied.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to the work site daily or have plans to relocate before starting work.
  • Must be comfortable working a rotational schedule, which includes day and night shifts as well as weekend work, based on project needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Owner's representative experience and projects exceeding $100M in construction value preferred.
  • Preferred certifications: CISRS Advanced Scaffolder or Supervisor, Scaffold Inspector, CHST, CSP, or NCCER Scaffold.

Responsibilities

  • Championing a zero-incident safety culture and ensuring all scaffolding complies with OSHA (29 CFR 1926 Subpart L), local regulations, and project safety requirements; stopping work when unsafe conditions or practices are observed.
  • Conducting routine field inspections and verifying that scaffolds are erected, modified, and dismantled by qualified personnel under an approved inspection and tagging program.
  • Overseeing contractor scaffold planning, sequencing, and execution so that scaffolding supports construction activities without impacting schedule or quality.
  • Verifying that installations comply with engineered designs, load requirements, and fall-protection standards, including guardrails, toe boards, access ladders, stair towers, and tie-ins.
  • Coordinating scaffold use across multiple trades and evaluating requests to minimize redundant installations and optimize cost.
  • Interfacing directly with general contractors and scaffolding subcontractors, verifying competency certifications, adequate staffing, and qualified supervision.
  • Leading safety audits, scaffold-specific risk assessments, and incident investigations, including root-cause analysis and corrective-action implementation.
  • Maintaining documentation of inspections, deficiencies, permits, and engineering approvals; preparing daily and weekly reports; and tracking scaffold KPIs (safety, inspection compliance, utilization, schedule adherence, and productivity).
  • Serving as the Owner's primary point of contact for scaffolding matters and coordinating with design, project controls, commissioning, and operations stakeholders.
